I wish I could hide desktop items. Your wish is granted! The Windows desktop includes several standard desktop items. They represent various software and hardware features. Recycle Bin and My Computer are examples of desktop items.   Windows may display items that you don't need or want. Some can simply be deleted, while others are a bit more stubborn. For example, if you don't use Microsoft Exchange for email, then you don't need the Inbox, but Windows won't let you delete it. Hide all desktop items and icons. Hide individual desktop items.
